IETM, also known as IETP or IETD, means the production, distribution, and use of technical documentation on an entirely electronic basis. The advantages that PCs and computer networks offer for the processing of information (CD-ROM, internet, databases) are used for IETM.
Interactive means that the user of IETM has direct access to information by clicking on links or entering search terms, without the need for browsing. IETM can, if necessary, exist in addition to a conventional paper documentation, supplement it, or replace it completely.
